I’ve had the unique experience of steering CoinMENA’s growth in a fully remote environment since day one. CoinMENA was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, which meant that remote work wasn’t just an option; it was our only option. However, this wasn't a limitation—it became our strength.

Our journey in the fintech industry has shown us that remote work can be incredibly effective. In fact, it has been instrumental in our success. We’ve built a robust, multi-geographic team that collaborates seamlessly across borders. This would have been far more challenging, if not impossible, had we adhered to the traditional office-bound work model.

Interestingly, as the world emerges from the pandemic, many tech and fintech companies are grappling with the decision of whether to return to the office full-time, adopt a hybrid model, or remain fully remote. The majority have opted for a hybrid approach. Companies like Google, Amazon, and Apple have instituted hybrid models where employees split their time between the office and remote work. This hybrid approach acknowledges the value of in-person collaboration while recognizing the undeniable efficiency of remote work.

However, at CoinMENA, we believe in remote work as the primary mode of operation, with office spaces being reserved for special circumstances. In the past, working out of an office was the norm, and remote work was the exception. Today, in a digital world equipped with an array of collaboration tools, this traditional approach no longer makes sense.

We’ve found that remote work not only boosts productivity but also saves time and resources. The cost savings from not renting massive commercial office spaces and the elimination of time wasted during commutes are significant. More importantly, it allows our team to work in environments where they feel most comfortable and productive.

That said, we do recognize the value of in-person interaction. When a team is working on a particularly complex project, or during the brainstorming and execution phases, there’s certainly merit in being in the same room. These occasions, however, are the exception rather than the rule.

In conclusion, the shift to remote work is more than just a trend; it’s a strategic advantage in today’s digital world. At CoinMENA, we’re proud to embrace this model, knowing it plays a critical role in our ongoing success.
